Two tees, the same size letter, two different fits. This is how perfectly sensible people end up staring at a size chart at midnight.
An oversized graphic T-shirt is cut to give you more room. A regular-fit tee usually sits closer to your natural shape. A loose or relaxed fit sits somewhere between, but these labels are not a universal sizing system. The useful bit is the garment measurements.
What changes in an oversized T-shirt?
Look at the width through the body, the shoulder seam and the sleeve shape. An oversized cut often has dropped shoulders and a broader silhouette. Buying a larger regular-fit tee can add length as well as width, so it may not create the same shape.
Our Rewind oversized graphic T-shirt has drop shoulders, a loose cut and multicoloured front lettering. The Goose Bump silly goose tee has a regular-loose fit with set-in sleeves and a large back print. The goose is relaxed. That does not make the garment an oversized cut.
A real size comparison: Rewind and Goose Bump
For size M, Rewind’s current product chart lists a 56 cm chest measurement, 69.5 cm length and 56 cm shoulder measurement. Goose Bump’s M lists 53.5 cm chest, 70 cm length and 49 cm shoulders. These are the listed garment measurements, not a recommendation for a particular body size.
That is why sizing by length alone can be misleading: these two M tees are close in length, while the shoulder measurements differ by 7 cm. Check the chart on the exact product you are ordering; a medium in one design is not a promise about another.
How to choose your size without guessing
- Take a T-shirt you already enjoy wearing and lay it flat without stretching it.
- Measure its width across the chest, shoulder width and length. Follow the measurement definitions in the product chart so you compare the same points.
- Compare those numbers with the chosen product’s chart, using the same units.
- Decide where you want extra room. More chest width, a lower shoulder seam and extra length are different choices.
Our T-shirt size guide explains how to use garment measurements. If a measurement or size is unclear, ask us before ordering rather than relying on your usual size letter.
Fabric weight and fit are different things
GSM means grams per square metre: it describes fabric weight, not the size of the tee. Rewind is listed as 240 GSM, 100% cotton. Goose Bump is 220 GSM, with 74.8% cotton and 25.2% nylon. Those details help describe the fabrics; they do not turn one fit into another or tell you how a garment will fit your body.
Think about where the graphic sits
Rewind puts its “Back to Better Times” artwork on the front, with a plain back. Goose Bump keeps the front plain and gives the bird the back. An open overshirt can frame a front print; a jacket will cover a back print while you are wearing it. Pick the placement you actually want to show.

Should you size down in an oversized tee?
There is no automatic rule. Sizing down changes the length and sleeves as well as the body width. Start with the chart and a tee you like; choose the measurements that suit the shape you want.
Are all NewMRKT graphic tees oversized?
No. Fits vary by design. Rewind is oversized; Goose Bump is regular-loose. Check each product’s fit notes and size chart before buying.
